32 Weeks!

Ok. I know I haven't updated much about the pregnancy...and that is because I haven't had any batteries for my camera! I also don't go to the doctor that often....I don't like his office! Well, I still don't have batteries which means I don't have any updated pictures. But because I am at 32 weeks and I only have 8 weeks to go, I thought I would give a quick update.

I have definitely popped out! I have gained about 20 lbs up to this point. The baby pushes into my lungs and ribs and sometimes it feels like I can't breath very well! It moves like crazy when it decides to move. (Especially at night when I am trying to sleep!) It has this crazy poking thing it does and it moves really quickly. I don't remember Edmund ever doing that. He was crazy but he mostly just rolled in balls, not the crazy poking thing! If I sit in a chair for very long my legs fall asleep! Thank goodness for my exercise ball because I can sit on it forever and they are fine! I know I still have 8 weeks left and I know that the baby will get even bigger but man....I feel like I am stretched out enough! This child is all out in front. With Edmund I was more round...but I also gained more weight with him.

Oh....we took Edmund to a Super Sibling class last night! It was so cute. He was so excited to go to his special class. I'm not sure about how much he understood, but he got to look at pictures of babies and the teacher talked about holding the baby and how the baby will eat and she gave an example how they can't feed the baby what they are eating. It was cute. They also watched this video with a crazy guy on it....but it had babies and older siblings. Then we walked around the hospital a bit and they showed the kids where the rooms were and where the nursery was. They also took us up to the new floor!!!! :) Please oh Please be open! The nurses are saying that they are moving up there in the end of November and it should be open and they are shooting for December 2! Oh man.....it's way nice. We didn't get to see the actual rooms cause they are still working on them but it looks so nice.

Ok....so I think that is all I have to say. I go to the doctor's office next week. Poo.... If there is anything to update then I will but it should just be a normal boring appt!

YUMMY COOKIES!

I really like most of Martha Stewart's recipes and I get Martha Stewart Living magazine and the newest one had a recipe for Cowboy cookies and they are sooo....yummy! So, I thought I would share it with you. It was super easy.

Cowboy Cookies

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1/2 t baking powder
8 oz (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 C granulated sugar
3/4 C light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 t vanilla extract
1 1/2 C old-fashioned oats
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, cut into 1/4 in chunks (1 cup)
=I used semi-sweet choc that was already chunked up!=
3 oz (3/4 C) pecan halves
=I used walnuts because I didn't have pecans=
1/2 C shredded unsweetened coconut
=I used sweetened because Wal-Mart didn't have unsweetened=

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder into a med bowl.
=Instead of sifting it, I let Edmund stir it for a while, it was fun! :)=

2. Beat butter and sugars with a mixer on med-high until pale and creamy-about 3 min. Reduce speed to medium. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.

3. Reduce speed to low, and slowly add flour mixture, beating until just incorporated. Beat in oats, chocolate, pecans, and coconut until combined. (Dough can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.)

4. Using a spoon or ice cream scoop spoon onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 3 inches apart.

5. Bake until edges of cookies begin to brown, 11 to 13 min. Transfer baking sheets to wire racks and let cool for 5 min. Transfer cookies to racks. Let cool.
=Most of ours took just past 10 minutes to finish. They turned out super soft and yummy and it was fun to make with Edmund and Robert!=

Edmund is officially a big boy now!

This all has to do with a papu (for those of you who don't know-this would be a pacifier.)

I'm not sure what the "signs" have been or why exactly we have decided to take the steps we have in dealing with the papu. I think both times have been because suddenly Edmund would get totally addicted to his papu and want it all day long and it drove us crazy! So, the first time was when we decided that he would only get his papu during nap time and night time and that happened sometime after he was a year old. Last night was the second. Edmund traded "special toys" for his papu. But, in order to get his special toys, he had to throw his papus into the trash can. Boy was that emotional. I think I almost cried! He did really well tho. Normally when he throws something away it's really quick and this time it was a much slower lowering of the papus into the trash can. He has asked for it a couple times today and I had to remind him that they were in the trash but I think he will be fine without it. It has taken him less than 30 min to fall asleep today! HOORAY for no more papu!

Doctor's Appointment

We finally went to the doctor's office on Friday. I have been avoiding going because I don't like Dr. Tindall's office at all and was trying to find somewhere else to go. But it seems I have no choice. And I wanted to see my baby! We had our ultrasound and it was a blast :) And no we didn't find out what the sex was! According to the measurements, the baby is around 2 pounds and about a week ahead of growing schedule. I didn't have any 3 or 4D ultrasound with Edmund and they did with this one so that was really cool. It is amazing that you can see the precious little face in there. I invited my mom to go since her lunch break was the same time as the appointment and I thought she would really like it and she did. She hasn't seen an ultrasound for a long time and they have made big improvements since then so she thought it was pretty cool. It was fun to have her there. Our printer isn't working very well right now so I can't scan the pics in yet. I will put them up as soon as I can!
